UPDATE: 7/29/2020: CLOSED

As the COVID-19 Corona Virus saga continues so does our Governors great ideas and decisions.
Senate Bill 599 was aimed at reopening skating rinks and bowling alleys. Gov. Cooper shared a statement on his decision to veto it.

We at Statesville Skateland are highly disappointed in the recent restriction Gov. Roy Cooper has imposed upon small business as we are sure you are too. Regretfully,
we will not be re-opening this weekend Aug 1st as we had previously stated and planned for. We have once again made provision, restocked our supplies and installed Thermal Detection equipment in preparation for this weekend to our own demise. However, we have been informed if we do open, we will be in violation of the “Governors” Executive orders and charged with a Class II Misdemeanor.

Section 6. Enforcement
Pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat.§ 166A-19.30(a)(2), the provisions of this Executive Order shall be enforced by state and local law enforcement                 officers.
A violation of this Executive Order may be subject to prosecution pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat.
     § 166A-19.30(d) and is punishable as a Class 2 misdemeanor in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat.§ 14-288.20A.

With that being said, we will re-evaluate the circumstances in September and will update everyone at that time.

In closing, May November bring North Carolina a Change for the better!

Let’s Make Skating Great Again!!!
